Maui Revealed App Reviews

This app was very helpful the first time in Maui! The ratings were spot on for the restaurants. Also the location feature and whats nearby is priceless. Going back again and the app will be overworked this time as well.

Just returned from a trip to Kauai and Maui. Found the Kauai guide to be extremely current and useful. The Maui guide was useful as well, but seemed a little more outdated, particularly with respect to restaurants and some recommend hikes which are no longer available. That said, I would still highly recommend getting this application. Its a little clunky, but very useful. Like other reviewers, Id strongly recommend adding a whats near me feature, rather than just listing things by region.

This app was so helpful for us, as it was our first time in Maui. From the maps to the activities to the restaurants, everything was spot on! I highly recommend this app to anyone going to the island. It doesnt disappoint. Great job, and thank you!!

Its better than owning the book (but get both). I love the interactive map feature. Shows you where you are in relation to the sites.

I bought the book first and the app second. I was a little reluctant to buy the app thinking it couldnt have more info than the book....I was very wrong. This map provided me with an invaluable map where gps functioned at all times, even with no cell phone signal (which happens a lot). I found every place with ease, everything was mapped out perfectly. The restaurants recommended were on point as well. Im more than happy with this application and would recommend it to everyone, even people living in Maui because I doubt they even know about all of these places. MUST HAVE PURCHASE

I am in Maui now, with an iPad2 with no cellular service at all, and with an iPhone 4S from which the SIM card is removed. WiFi is off. This app clearly and exactly finds either device on the Maui map in the app. I lack the skill to determine whether it’s using GPS or GLONASS, but I know the hardware is there for either. It is hard for me to imagine the struggles of those who find the app to “need a cellular signal.” I can’t find text in the book that is not in the app, including the exact access descriptions for the beaches. As with any travel app, some entries are out of date. It is now 2015 after all. Monsoon India has closed its Lahaina location, but is still at Kihei (and is to be avoided, in my opinion). Son’z has possibly been renamed Japengo at the Hyatt Regency Kaanapali. Waterfront Restaurant in Ma’alea has closed. Saigon Seafood is closed. Maui’s law has changed re corkage fees for restaurant guests with wine cellars who want to bring their own special bottles (and pay for that privilege). Such notes might be good additions to a future edition. Lahaina Grill & Japengo do not permit this, but Merriman’s in Kapalua does, and my Oregon pinot noir from my cellar was very good indeed. My suggestions are so esoteric in nature that THIS MUST BE A GREAT APP. IT IS A GREAT APP, AND HAS BEEN VERY WELL IMPLEMENTED. Pay no heed to the critics, and perhaps [oh, never mind].

I wish the timing of the release of the app matched the release of the book. I purchased the ebook and app on the same day, and now Im stuck with the newest book and an old outdated app for my honeymoon.

I never go to Maui without the book or app

I wrote a review two days ago when I saw there was a version 7 of Maui Revealed and I had received no update. I was disappointed and surprised as I had just bought Maui Rev 6 a little over 40 days ago. I received an update code that updated my app in less than 20 hour. That great service made me a happy camper. I will also post after I go to Maui. A friend of mine just got back and when I asked him to give me some information to help with my trip the first thing he said was " There is this book or app called Maui Revealed. You have got to get one or the other and I suggest the app."
